Somehow drank a lot Saturday night. Started w/ a BK Lager 6 pack and expanded into Lone Star and PBR territory, then a little bit into insanity from drinking 17 beers in like 5 hours? Somehow felt normal this morning. So month 1 is under my belt (or slightly above it). Eleven to go and Feb. is gonna be practice for March so there should be some stories to tell...

Slacking over the last day or so in part due to an epic Friday evening at Trux's housewarming party which was hooked up to the gills with Uncle Billy's Pale Ale, Southern Star's Bombshell Blonde, and an unidenfied west coast IPA. Had a mixture of all three for a grand total of 13 pints and slow, slow ride home. Good night, rough morning, but still made it out for a Boulevard IPA and a Lone Star during a small portion of the skellies ride. Saturday night was spent on the couch.

Well, Thursday did it again. Went into the night feeling like i'd hang for a bit and then go hang out on the couch and that didn't happen. So we put some slow miles on with 300ish (?) and I did a lot of sprinting from back to front, which totally justified my 12 Lone Star and PBR mix. Also adding 2 from Wednesday night to the tally. Route.

Went for a 2.5 hour solo ride then stopped at Billy's for a few beers then went home but ran in to Midnight Ridazzzz and ended up riding for another 3ish hours and drinking more than forecasted... I think I rode about 20 miles tonight so I hope that fought off some of the calories accrued from an 11 pack. 4 Billy's Pale, Lone Star, PBR and some Modelo and I only spent like $8. Yay cheap drunk I < 3 U. Route.

REGULATORS BASH! This is why I started drinking at 3:00 yesterday, but it was sunny and beautiful with friends all around, so why the hell not? Did the Bash for many hours yesterday afternoon and evening with a friends and a group of great folks from Tulsa, who brought the bash to Austin. It was a group race of sorts where the main group had to follow the trail markers that the hares posted and took us all over east and downtown. Had some beer stops of course and ended up with more beer and gold sprints and I got my best time yet. Good times and 14 beers in my belly with a classy mix of Lone Star, PBR, Schlitz and Pearl..

Goddamn Friday night shit fuck got all innocent and stayed in drinking beers with my dog then left then drank more then sobered up and drove drunks around then came home and hit a grand slam. Tonight was strictly PBR and Lone Star tallboys. Now i'm listening to Jay Reatard and sad and thinking about the three people I knew on some level who died in the past three months, who also all played shows here in town within a month of their deaths (all of which I missed for whatever dumb reason). Rest in Peace Jerry, Vic and Jay and please nobody else die anytime soon. :(

The wettest Thursday night social ride in the entire history of the Thursday night social ride made me drink a lot. Blame it on the rain, yeah yeah. Dressed in my finest homeless-ish outfit, put on some miles, met with the ride leaders, drank some beer, rode in the rain some more in my stylish clear poncho, had a few token beers at Metz, then to the Club Deville for beers 6-11, then 11, 12 and 13 at Jackalope standing in the rain, then rode home in a downpour for a night cap. 14 beers and busted ass print server and a bit of a toothache are making Friday drag like your uncle's knuckles...

Tuesday night, what happened to you? Went out for a solo ride for a few hours, then ended up on Barton Springs and had my 99th and 100th beers at Billy's while watching some b-ball, stopped at jackalope for a few tallboys, then was being good and going home and getting to bed early when I got a call and met some friends at Rio Rita which turned in to, uh, Shakespeare's for $2 long islands, which turned in to not getting to bed so early after all. 10 beers for the evening, and yes, Long Islands count as beer today.

Saturday night - 5 beers at Canary Hut and 5 more as of mid-evening Sunday. Riding around town, playing (or at least watching) bike polo, meeting up w/ random people around town. Sunny Sunday after the cold snap felt good.

Drank some beers at home, watched the Longhorns lose the championship, walked and rode around in some cold ass weather, went to after party at a beautiful house on the bluffs over the Colorado, met some awesome new people, consumed 12 beers - Brooklyn, Pearl, PBR, Schlitz, Lone Star - looks like I covered all the bases. Brain feels OK. Day 7 of the Month shall be my monthly personal holiday.

Monday night got a bit out of hand, Tuesday hangover is in dire need of a bloody mary. Played poker then went to see some bands at Emo's for free week. So yeah, started the night off with my final 3 Two Hearted Ales, a Red Stripe, 3 PBRS, then 7 PBR/Lone Star tallboys. Yay! First tallboys of the year! So the count is 7 regulars, 7 tallboys. Need a good ride tonight to get rid of some calories...

My year of beer

This is my inaugural post for what I hope to be a tally of how many beers I will drink in 2010. Got a good start last night after midnight with 9 PBRs, 2 dogfish head 60 minute IPAs and half a bottle of unidentified champagne. Ate Indian buffet for lunch and some friends brought me some Two Hearted Ale from Michigan, which is beer #12 for the year!
